Some notes from a local on "imagined" locations in treatments

Quite a few treatments expect fantasy-like or SF-like locations at a very early stage of pre-production. For many foreign filmmakers, Japan is a strange world they have only seen in anime or ukiyo-e, or perhaps in "Blade Runner". Big-budget projects can afford such locations, whether they rent them or make them themselves, while the rest find it hard to get such mise-en-scene for free or on the cheap. DFS can still manage some of the greatest locations for a reasonable price. However, we recommend that you use our DFS research service to avoid this kind of unrealistic treatment.
